THESE ARE JUST A FEW SELECTED COMMENTS FROM THE GUEST BOOK AS WELL AS NOTES SENT TO US HERE AT MAPLE HILL FARM:

Dear Scott, We had such a wonderful time with both of our visits, and both of our rooms were delightful in different ways!  We loved running just a few steps to the kitchen for one more cookie and a glass of milk; and on our return, we were adjoining the beautiful living room where we could crack our door to see what was happening, sit out on our private deck, and enjoy the breeze and view of gardens on two sides plus the deck on the back – giving us a panoramic view of the beauty all around.  Plus of course, the luxurious, spacious hot tub. The atmosphere is very peaceful and nourishing; we will cherish our memories of the time with you and Vince.

Vince & Scott,
Just a long overdue thank you for our wonderful overnight at Maple Hill Farm Inn!  From you welcome when we arrived to our delicious breakfast prior to leaving, our stay was great and perfect!  We enjoyed our hike to hte pond & our use of the hot tub.  Just last week I finally got around to reading the inn's history & the article in the "Green & Healthy Maine" visitors guide.  You are both an inspiration in how you care about sustainability!  Thank you both!

We rented Maple Hill Farm for the weekend for our daughter's wedding. We had a WONDERFUL weekend.  Vince and Scott, along with their staff, were wonderful!  They had great suggestions (as this was new to us!) in many areas!!  I had heard wedding days can be very stressful but our daughter's was NOT!!  Everyone told us during and after what a wonderful wedding it was and a wonderful place to have a wedding.  We will highly recommend Maple Hill Farm to our friends for their "children's" weddings!!  Thank you SO much for a "stressfree" weekend!!!!!!  :)

We only stayed one night but it was wonderful.  There are so many amenities.  We used the hot tub & sauna under the stars.  Maple Hill Farm B&B was our 9th B&B experience on this trip and our best.  The breakfast was yummy!

Thank you Scott and Vince for a lovely B&B experience!  I greatly appreciated the brown bag breakfast you left for me in the guest refrigerator [due to my very early departure] and the organic coffee was wonderful!  My room was clean beyond my expectation. I actually spilled water on the bathroom floor and when I wiped it up there was not a speck of dirt on the towel. I was grateful that the room was also quiet. You were excellent hosts and have a charming B&B. If I ever need to stay overnight in the area again, I would select your location over any others, by far! I wish you many more years of success in your outstanding business!  Many thanks.

Thank you so much for everything.  Joe & I count ourselves as two fortunate souls to have been graced to come across your B&B.
I found this in your library and smiled.  It's in the Voice of Maine by Frederick J. Jaeckel:

I live in a place among the trees
Trees that provide me with shelter, sustenance and beauty.
A place so achingly beautiful, gentle, and peaceful,
That all I can say to a visitor is this:
Revel in what you see here.
     Thank god for this privilege,
Return home in safety and peace,
And tell no one what you saw here.

My feelings exactly!   :)

From Debbie:
We came for one night, but had to stay a 2nd!  Loved the animals, hot tub, the sound of rain on the roof and of course, the pancakes.  Scott gave us wonderful travel advice.  Hope to visit again.

From Matt:
My life has (for the last 2 years) taken a hard break -- and, very recently, I've caught a lucky break -- and so Debbie and I are vacationing to help me heal from the hard and celebrate the lucky.  We came to Maine because, last early spring, I traveled to Gardiner, ME, for a week's work with the U.S. Census Bureau.  We came back -- and stayed here, at your Hallowell B&B for 2 days -- and I've fallen in love again.  With Maine, with Debbie, with the brighter possibilities in life.  Thank you so much.
        Matt and Debbie, July 2011.

A poem titled "Thank You":

What can I say about Maple Hill Farm --

Words can't describe its warmth and its charm

The people so warm, so helpful, so Kind

How did we ever discover this find !!

Our room was so elegant, yet warm and refreshing

Just what we needed for rest and relaxing

We've travelled a lot, stayed in many a place

But Maple Hill Farm comes first in the race.

From the welcome we got when we did first arrive

Till the time we departed for another long drive

The memories we take with us, shall always remain

Till the next time we visit -- again and again

Thank you all for a wonderful stay.  Your bacon is the bestest of the best and even better. Jeannie and Steve, Nova Scotia, Canada, July 2011.

I cannot thank you enough for helping us have a wonderful event!  Not one person complained about the temperature, the food or the environment.  Our event the following day at a different venue had all those complaints and more...you set the bar pretty high and as a presenter I thoroughly enjoyed the ease of use of your conference center.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  ~  Vanessa, September 2010.

You guys are great!   Thanks so much for all you did to make [our daughter's] wedding a big success.  There are times when one makes a decision and knows it is wrong and times when you know it is right and Maple Hill [Farm] B&B was just so right.  Thanks a million.  ~  Dick & Sue.  July 2010.

After having toured New England for twelve days and mostly stayd in very unpersonal and anonymous hotels it was very nice to end up in Maple Hill Farm and be so nicely welcome -- I am really sorry that I can't stay here for the next weeks!  ~ Otto from Denmark, July 2010.

Thank you for a very peaceful getaway.  The Maple Hill Farm will forever be in our hearts (and in our GPS).  You two are a splendid pair and together you have created a very magical place here.  Even small town New York, where we are from, can become too much at times.  This trip has grounded the two of us and at a good time -- being right before the crazy holiday season.  It shows that you both work very hard, no stone has been left unturned -- and every comfort one could wish for can be found on this beautiful estate.  Good luck in the years to come and I am sure we will be seeing you and the farm again.   ~ xoxo Jenny & Josh.  November 2009.

We would like to thank you for the spectacular presentation of your hospitality.  We could not of picked a better, more suitable venue for our celebration than yours.  Everyone commented on your delicious food, "the best meatballs ever!" "What a spread!" "This was the best reception we have ever been to!" ... and on and on.

We appreciated your attentiveness to the quality and quantity of the food.  The atmosphere was perfect, which went along with one of the most beautiful days in June.  Thanks for making our day one to remember.   ~   Sharon and Colin, July 2009.

Once again this has been a wonderful visit to a peaceful, relaxing place.  Every time we are here, you have added and improved but I don't think it can be more perfect.  The food, hospitality, and comfortable rooms are great.  When we come to Maine, this is one of our places to visit.  ~  Ed & G-Nell, South Carolina, May 2009.

Thank you both for an awesome event!   Our retreats and conventions take us to many hotels and conference facilities throughout Maine, but rarely do we experience the personal consideration that we received from you both and your wait staff.   I will highly recommend your facility and hope to use it again in the near future.  ~   Rita, May 2009.

Thank you, Scott and Vince!  I have reviewed the evaluations from the workshop and want to share some of the responses with you:  One comment made was “loved the “Inn” feel.”  Two folks said that lunch was the most enjoyable part of the workshop!  Another comment was “Great location, great accommodations, and great food”, and there were 3 requests to hold our workshop at Maple Hill Farm again next year.  I also want to thank you especially for meeting our lunch requests.  My compliments to you and all of your staff!  Everyone is friendly and easy to work with and I will certainly recommend Maple Hill Farm on every occasion that I have a chance to do so.  Many thanks again.  ~  Chuck, November 2008

"Scott, Vince & Staff (Don't know names, but you are great) I'm actually staying here on business, so this is VERY unique for me. I originally was at the Senator Inn & some of my other co-workers stayed here on a recommendation. You have to understand that I stayed 36 weeks over the last year at hotels across this country & Canada. Hiltons are my favorite, but this place is FAR & Above anything they could offer. The breakfast was like nothing anywhere else & your team's hospitality is top notch. I grew up on a farm in central Illinois, so it really feels like home. I hope to return someday & if I'm ever here on business you'll definitely see me again! Thanks!" ~ Chad, Springfield, IL, August 2007

"To All, We had a wonderful time staying on your farm. The atmosphere is so relaxing, so peaceful, and so very friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and hearty, the fire warm and inviting, and the 'big red barn' thoroughly interesting (even though I'm frightened to death of big animals). Thank you for your kind hospitality and we would love to come and stay again. P.S. That 'slight incline' when skiing is a little more than slight!" ~ Gerard & Emily, Bristol, RI, February 2005

"We have returned for our third visit to Maple Hill to stay near relatives. We feel comfortable here and it reminds us of Grandma's house in Randolf. How many inns would provide a guest with dress shoes to wear to a funeral? We will return" ~ Donna & Roland, Saugus, CA, December 2003

"Thank you for a wonderful 'getaway.' My husband surprised me for my birthday. We are always so busy with our 2 children, 15 & 12, that I stated how it would be nice if we could get away. Thank you for a warm and cozy place to enjoy the company of my husband!" ~ Alan & Renee, Augusta, ME, April 2003

"I really thank you, Scott & Vince! I've never had such hospitality that you gave me. I love this warm atmosphere and, of course, breakfast as well. It's wonderful! "Thank you for your hospitality!! The inn is quite charming. The room was nicely decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. My wife and I have not had a more enjoyable time under the covers - sleeping of course. We loved the barn, our daughter enjoyed seeing the animals - her first encounter with farm animals. Your patience with us and our 8 month old Lucy were greatly appreciated. The two of you make the inn feel like home - without the chores and responsibilities. A very relaxing time was had by all three of us. We look forward to a 2nd visit in the future. Thanks again! P.S. Do take a vacation - soon." ~ Nino, Chris & Lucy, Yorba Linda, CA, October 2001

"In the boa of hill

in the lock of dragonfly sky

in the woods of cow moo

in the bleat of goats in brush

in the clover of summer dozing

in the yawn of fields in their leisure

in the buzz of bug

in the sleep of sheep

in the trees winter is still breaking

in the low haunts of cat solitude

in the wisdom of pines

in the solace of porch

in the descent of light

in the coming of the deluge of night

& flood the farm land with stars

in the cry of wee birds

       to other wee birds

in the house of dusk

in the mountains of time

the road rises & returns

to the old agriculture of love

to its bed a wild peace."
